Just an idea.. have you's asked GSC if they would be interested in hireing out the gym to you's for a LAN during school holidays.. i dont know the costs of hireing out the woodend hall, but i recon the gym might be a better and possibly a cheeper option.. + i can put in a good work too and can hookup stuff like net access for the days.. soon the school will have 4mbps up and down + a DMZ.. so on hte day, we can use hte DMZ to ahve full open internet access.. Also i have access to certain hardware like Procurve 8000 switches.. so 80 port 10/100 on a fast bus just a thought.. but i think the school would consider it

yes you are a soft cock.... but on the subject, i like woodend i thought that was a very good venue but we are always looking for some where bigger and better we will eventually have to go to a bigger hall but we will have to make sure the hall can handle the power.

yeh and gisborne isnt exactly cut out for that much power as it is a HOLE

i think there is a lot of negativity here. spadge your wrong... the gym and drama room are built to handle sound and lighting equipment that far exceeds the power output of personal computers. and on file sharing... who will check? who will know what their checking for and if any investigation occurs i imagine it will follow this format. eg. "you guys arent doing any illeagal stuff are you??" reply: no. or diplomatically explain the futility of controlling it. as is th truth. sticklan can take no effective action against file sharing (as is th case with any lan) and hence therefore should not take responsibility for anytyhing of the sort. I say the Gym while it be cold would be great. drama room would be cool tho. and in summer its no prob anyway. and the internet would be a godsend to all those that need new drivers or a patch.

Well, we can go for it if you all want to. The main problem we're having now is power. we need to first find a hall that is big, and has lots of circuits with phat ampage. We'll be bound to around 45 computers until we defeat this limitation of the current halls.

when i can be bothered ill hook up a special lead to my computer and ill run it at full and get a amp meter and see how much its drawing so then we can figure out how many we can have per circuit

i dont think that the gsc gym/hall is a good idea because i already spend enough time at that shit place and dont really want spend more there + it is very dusty in there and computers and dust dont got that well together thats just my opinion

blah, she'll be right.. ill ask the business manager to see how hte power flow's in hte place before we go any further anyways.. but i doubt their would be any problems..
