Update Please
Can i get a update on when the next LAN is planned? current date 1/9/05 also can we get some Unreal tournament going? if we are going to have clans the Unreal would be ideal. Also vietcong has to be the worst LAN game we play as it is not noob friendly, example: /Organising Vietcong /noob starts downloading of someone /mutiple noobs start downloading taking up bandwidth /sparsky uses Iriver and cuts the time 1/2 /noob gets game /Vietcong up and running /noob sets keys /noob enters game /noob picks sniper ( i mean come on ) /noob recieves msg ~sorry that class is full~ /noob goes 'WTF' /noob picks another class /noob enters game /noob gets pwnd in .02secs /noob 'WTF' /noob spawns /noob gets pwnd in .05secs /noob 'WTF' /this happens 5-10 times without even seeing who is shooting him or even a member of the opposition to shoot at /noob says 'fuck this' /noob starts downloading pawn and takes up all the bandwidth ~discuss~

ok kids here it is. Vietcong was by far the most popular fps at the last sticklan. UT will never be accepted especially as a clan game, there simply arent enough people stuck in your time warp willing to play. if u wanna set up ur own game with mates feel free. the choice of games at the last lan was due to popular demand... games that ppl would play even if its not their favourite. the purpose of the big lan is to have big games and i just dont see that happening with UT.

seeing as i'll be skiing off mt bogong during the next sticklan we can see what happens. Griff take your Ritalin and calm down. I am trying to be realistic. Games played at last sticklan were games i liked yes. i like them because they are fun but mostly because ppl played them, i hate repeating myself. Yes i decided on when games were going to be played, and i had a very hoarse voice by the end of the lan. this was because i had to shout to ask for a general consensus on what people wanted to play. if you remember the people in the smaller room which made up about a third of the whole lanners they were all hardcore vietcong gamers. i knew all the ppl i usually have small lan with are avid cong gamers and even play with them on the net. UO i know is a favourite among many too, but why both of these games were played the most were because when i asked what do ppl wat to play? i got the reply of cod or vc or bf1942. there were requests for battlefield vietnam at the previous sticklan too and albeit my hate for that game i still played because i realied that was the choice of the majority. For an example when asking around i got lots replys stating that ppl wanted to play BF2. i was against it because: 1. most people didnt have a computer capable of runnig BF2 2. even if they did alot of ppl would get graphics card problems 3. you needed to copy an image (double layer so un-burnable) mount install and crack i believe? This task is above and beyond alot of n00bs of which you so avidly speak Griff. 4. i tried to explain these limitations to people but i went along with it because there was a strong lobby for it. so i ended up installing the game myself and after getting it running i found a server up with only 4 ppl playing, the max was 6 in the game at any time. the people who already had the game were bored shitless by the time the rest had it copied and installed so i concluded it was a waste of time at a lan of 40+ ppl!! For an example of a game i did really like and really wanted to play was SWAT 4. 1. I waited until around one in the morning, i let nearly everyone know that i intended to get the game going at around that time. 2. i knew there were only 3 pcs with the game on it, so i knew it would take hours till everyone got it and it would detract from gaming time in the heat of the lan( like what bf2 did) 3. The only ppl who played were the ones interested, i did it at a time when i forced it on no-one. 4. The game was a huge success and we had awesome laughs and fun. And i attribute it to the fact that ppl wanted to be there and play this game. Now can you see Griff and anyone else? i intend to get ppl playing games at lans, i am not on the comittee, therefore am not obliged to do anything at a sticklan. I am just the forum admin, and help out where i can. If you want to get a game going put it out there, i realise you asked me and i dismissed it. Thats because it is a a huge (in disk space) game. taking long to copy, furthermorei bag you because you want to play an outdated game. i mean it only as fun, but i see it realistically and realise that if you ask ppl to play UT there will be many that say i dont like it, others that say lets play ut2004 instead and others that just dont wanna play( i never get these ppl, they come to lans to look at porn and play sp games, i mean thats what your rooms for), anyways this would leave only a few in your boat Griff. But still if you wanna prove me wrong i aint gonna stop you. Just dont ask me to do anything. I ask people to start their own clans, they dont, we ask for suggestions for which there is a forum, use it, atm its relatively empty. P.S cheers to sparksy for helping us copy SWAT 4

1. I actually agree with you on the BF2 thing, the game sucks anyway find a good guided missle post and camp. 2. Ok im going to pick on sparsky a little here, sorry man. Me and sparsky have been lanning for a very very long time now im talking back DOS and coax cable days where Duke was king and shrinker wars were plentyful. Now sparsky is a awsome player and by no means a noob, when we play agaist each other i target him cuz he pwns my ass but during that Vietcong game he got absoluty bugger all kills and did not enjoy himself at all. Its a good game to play if you have some experience in it but if you are new to the game is terrible cuz you get head shotted in 2 secs flat and by the time you figured anything out the map changes. At least in UT even if you get pwnd you feel as if you have actually been able to play the game. 3. UT has some really good features in it that would make clanning lots of fun. there is of course a capture the flag game, there is also a soccar like game where you become the ball. But the most fun is the game where you can have 1 team defending a base and another team attacking the base with actual objectives. 4. If we could get a UT game up and running im sure it will be well enjoyed its fun action packed and is easy to set up. so the question stands can we give it a go? 5. i was referring to UT2004, but you cant pick on a game because of its age i mean look at CS.

oh btw ill be creating a clan. I think the 'Pink Death Bunnies' has a nice ring to it
