Personnaly, me and my mates think that the games we'd like to play are:
Counter-Strike: Source
RTS games (EE2, RON etc (and EDMW)
Call of Duty 1/2
BF1942 is everyones favorite ;)
BF2 shits me.

mm, although I have no problems with BF2 I think that getting a working copy to everyone at the lan would be too big of a job. we have a stack of DVDs, i doubt it'll work. unless you already have a stack of dvds, then i'd be happy to contribute my one as well :)
best games for successful lans are the games that everyone knows and likes. BF1942, COD:UO, BF:Vietnam, all fantastic games that you can count on everyone having. also easy to distribute.
Also, i know that many people at sticklan wouldn't quite have the specs to run BF2, but they can run all the others fine. compatibility comes first.

dont worry everyone can run cod2 whch will be played, and rommel, as for RON id be in for it, i dont get many ppl to play that with... but those games ppl can just play between themselves.

A large part of the LAN will be BF2, and I really do agree with Mr Cabana that it's upgrade time. COD 1/2 is a matter of contention atm, as half the masses hate it, and half the masses love it. I can tailor games to the masses by not running it.
Next week I'll announce the games list, and I'll be able to organise for everyone to have the games installed without many worries. While most games won't need you to upgrade to play, I strongly suggest you look into pimping your boxen so you can at least play BF2.
The squad-based action makes the game awesome.

I don't think it will be played as it's a REALLY simple game. We can play BF2 instead!
Yeh but the simple games are sometimes the best... but BF2 would be a better way to use the time. Still it would be fun

Its hardly half.... more people hate bf2, but regardless if we didnt run games because some people hate it the wouldn't be games at the lan, if more than 16 players like a game then it should be run, everyone else can be nice and do something else.

If we have servers running for both, then that's fine. Hopefully UT2004 and such will be a balancing force at the LAN.

What do i need to do to get UT2004? i dont want to sound like a whiny bitch again but i'd just rather have the games before hand so i can actually play them i dont have to spend an hour figuring out controls and then saying OMG,look what i just found, and have everyone look at me like im from playschool or something
