Timmy, I said as Admin you suck, now the lan game wise was the best on yet most of the games played had a good amount of players in them but I think you just need to post a games list a little sooner that way we all would have had the games installed when we got there, I really liked the layout with the seating in clans and when you can afford to go gigabit it will be a hardcore setup. If you want feedback from the people that went, that is no probs but we need to know what this you have a problem with also if there was thungs you didn't like then tell us we see it differently to you guys. All in all I think it went rather well and maybe you should think of what games are out or coming out that you may want to play and ask some people to play -*test*-('") or get the adim to play -*test*-('") them first to see if they are worth playing with a FULL server and then get all the updates, mods, cracks and patches you need and let people know were they are (we had trouble finding them). After all there lAN's are about gaming not copying stupid amounts of data from other people if you really want to copy get a gigabit card and do it direct comp. to comp. and don't kill the network for the games (I took sparky's HDD and put it in my PC to save time). This is not an attack on the admin you asked for feedback and here it is, If you know people that can't help with the setup etc. pick there brain as they will mostlikly want to go to STICKLAN. Keep up the good work your getting there. Are you going to have another one and if so any idea when I'd like to see how much smoother the next one is, if you are really going to gigabit then I think BF2:SF and other games like it should final get a run, Yet again keep up the good work

Timmy, I said as Admin you suck Rather than sucking in general? aww, thanks! All in all I think it went rather well and maybe you should think of what games are out or coming out that you may want to play and ask some people to play -*test*-('") or get the admin to play -*test*-('") them first to see if they are worth playing If I can get whitey to stop using his connection for pr0n, then I can look into it. A couple of good RTS games and a few good FPS games should be a LAN. I have an idea! give people a bundle od CDs or a DVD at the door for the games we'll be playing. Damn, that's a good idea! It kinda breaks the we-will-not-let-you-file-share rule... kinda... we lots... if you are really going to gigabit then I think BF2:SF and other games like it should final get a run, Yet again keep up the good work Is BF2:SF really worth it? what are the bells and whistles that make it good?

All round i found the LAN to work quite good, there wasn't that many problems, there's been worse LANs (eg: Civ4 LAN :( BILL). The chruch group was kinda gay, but it wasn't that bad. The best ideas we have right now are the tables and the Clans, i haven't take the time to read over that totally, but it should definently be done. We can have the people who use the forums in set Clans on Set tables, and then we can make a clan/table for people who turn up unexpectedly. None of this clan changing/table swapping etc (yes BILL, again). I haven't had that good a time since the first stickLAN i've been too (which i think was number two). I stand by that that was an excellent LAN. kudos to all (PS: FK BF2! Too much effort for an average game)

Paradoxian- 01-19-2006

FK BF2! Too much effort for an average game I kinda agree. Desert Combat had way better helicopters...

Guys I said BF2 and other games like it it terms of Network and sys. res. need to play a large game, Not that the game I the best on ever remember by the next one we will have games like Stargate SG-1: The Alliance and finaly S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl(which the min specs. will kill most PCs) and then better games after that, so the games have no bearing on what we should look forward to, if you get the servers fixed up to host games and you have the gigabit also running then you can have 2-3 games running at the same time (If Whtiey stops sharing his porn will we are gaming). I think that once you setup the gigabit network it will runs beautifully and the first and second STICKLANs were by far the bet yet because we played games non-stop, It looks to me that people are more wanting to copy crap from everyone else. You have the forum setup so why don't people ask around for the things they want to save some time. I have a crap load of stuff just like whitey does and had it all on DVDs at STICKLAN to save the network. Look Guy I really think you need to bring the focus back to the games ask around for other people opinions on games because CoD is not that good that it needs to be played non-stop at every lan, what is the point of getting all these new games and doing Comp. upgrades if we never play new stuff. So enough bitching and keep up the good work, and hope to see you all and the Next STICKLAN.

I have never actually seen the point in playing the la-*test*-('")s games the moment they come out, as only a few people will have the computers to run it. This seems to have happened with BF2, and will happen with more games if people aren't given a little time to upgrade. Perhaps we could make a section of the forums for if people want to see certain games played, what the requirements would be, and a poll to find out who would play it.

Good Idea - or at least run a poll at each sticklan to keep up to date with what games are good, played most often, that have gamers interest. this would help alot in the preperation for each sticklan to give everyone enough heads up on what to expect.

cabana bob- 01-19-2006

here is the thing kids, bf2 already has an update (special forces) but we still didnt even play the original. to tell the truth we played stuff all of the battlefield series, i would have settled for a 1942 bash, but it was good to see some classics like counter strike being played (note it was the la-*test*-('") version source), i had fun, have fun and enjoy the big lanning experience. don't take this as an attack (SOME of you do), i'm just throwing my opinion out there........luv and kisses cabana bob

luv and kisses I knew you wanted me

Ok the server issue shall be solved next lan ( if all goes to plan ) as i got donated another PC today ( well mobo cpu and case which i hope can be run as a dedicated ) my aim is to have several dedicated servers linked with gigabit lan, but it costs money and i have other prioritys that must take place, BUT thanks to some certain ( mainly spawn and my mate who doesnt even lan ) for donating old computer parts that they no longer use as its bloody hard to get a dedicated server up and running as we just dont have the funds ( as yet ) but we are working on it and should be sorted for next lan We will also sort out what games people like to play and what not ( so stay on the site as it will keep you most informed )
